The Mullen Varsity Poms Team has been finalized for the 2012-2013 season. Returning girls include five seniors (Lauren St. John, Kelsey Johnson, Kaylee Hottman and Elizabeth Plank) and one sophomore (Andie Panozzo). Two new girls have been added to the team this fall: one freshman (Julia Willetts) and a senior (Kelsey Martinez). Coach Lindsay Hooper stepped in as the new poms coach this fall. Lindsay is on staff at Mullen as the Assistant Admissions Director, and is also a Mustang and Mullen poms alum. The team has been hard at work practicing most days after school, and some weekends with their choreographer. They have performed at all of the home football games, the homecoming pep rally, and will be competing at Centennial League and the State Spirit Competition. Attending “away” Mullen football games as a team, and supporting the soccer team have been new ways the poms are bringing spirit to the school. These dance athletes are destined for great success this season. Go Poms!
